Kookville began in 2020 with a simple frustration. Most of the clothes we owned felt uninspiring — poor quality, forgettable designs, and little thought given to sustainability or ethics. We wanted clothing we were genuinely proud to wear, so we decided to make our own.

At first, it wasn’t a business. Just a few t-shirts made for us, with no plan to sell them. But once those first pieces existed, friends and family wanted them too. A small batch turned into another, and by 2022, Kookville started to take shape.

Coming from a background with no experience in fashion marketing or anything that goes with running a clothing brand, the learning curve was steep. But that process — figuring things out, refining, improving — became part of the brand itself. The same approach still drives everything we do today.

Surfing has always been central to our lives, so it naturally influenced Kookville. Not as a uniform, but as a mindset — clothing inspired by the coast, made to handle real conditions, and designed to last. The UK isn’t always kind, and our gear shouldn’t need perfect weather to make sense.

From the beginning, the aim has been simple: make planet-minded clothing that feels good, wears well, and earns its place in your wardrobe. We focus heavily on fabric, fit, and finish — creating pieces you can rely on, wherever the day takes you.

Over the years, we’ve released six full seasons of designs, each one building on the last. With every drop, we’ve refined our process, pushed quality further, and listened closely to what our customers value most — clothing that looks good, feels right, and holds up over time.

Sustainability isn’t a trend for us; it’s a responsibility. As surfers, we’re constantly reminded of our connection to the ocean and the impact we have on it. We work with ethical suppliers, prioritise responsible production methods, and continue to look for better ways to reduce our footprint as we grow.

Kookville is still evolving, and that’s part of the journey. We’re expanding our product range, improving our processes, and building a brand rooted in trust, quality, and community.

What started as a small batch of t-shirts has grown into something much bigger —
